Privacy Policy
This policy describes how NeverRanked handles data. Any prior version of this policy that referenced services we no longer provide is superseded by this one.
What we do not collect
The research engagement does not require access to customer systems. We do not collect customer-side data through code installed on your property, integrations into your CRM, or any read access to your business systems. The measurement work happens entirely against public AI answer engines from outside.
What we do collect
- Site visitor data. Standard server logs (IP, user agent, referrer) and Cloudflare Web Analytics on neverranked.com. Aggregated, retained 30 days.
- Contact form and email. If you write to Lance@hi.neverranked.com or submit a contact form, we store your message and any contact information you provided so we can reply.
- Customer engagement metadata. For active research engagements: invoice and payment records, the query sets we measure against, the memos and punch lists we produce, and the raw measurement output.
- Free check tool (check.neverranked.com). The URL you submit, the resulting analysis, and your email address if you opted to receive the result by email. Retained for product improvement, not sold or shared.
What we share
We do not sell your data. Third-party services that may process small amounts of data on our behalf:
- Cloudflare (hosting, DNS, analytics)
- Stripe (payment processing for customers)
- Email delivery providers (transactional and customer correspondence)
Each receives only the data necessary to perform its function. None receives customer-engagement memos or raw measurement output without explicit instruction.
Aggregate research data
NeverRanked maintains a cross-category dataset that records what AI engines cite in each category we have measured. This dataset is built from observation of public AI engines, not from customer-side data. Category-level aggregate patterns derived from this dataset are used in our work with other customers, never tied to a named customer, never reverse-engineerable to a specific engagement.
Cookies
neverranked.com uses minimal cookies for site analytics. No tracking cookies for advertising. No cross-site profiling.
Data retention
- Active customer data: retained while the engagement is active.
- After cancellation: customer engagement data is retained 30 days, then deleted unless you request earlier deletion.
- Free check tool submissions: retained indefinitely in aggregate, identifiable records removed on request.
- Email correspondence: retained as long as the business relationship continues.
Your rights
Email Lance@hi.neverranked.com to request access, correction, or deletion of your data. We respond within 30 days.
Changes
We will update this policy when our practices change. Material changes will be communicated to active customers by email.
