How we work

Twelve principles, stated plainly.

If you're an agency owner, an operator, or an in-house marketer deciding whether we'd be a good partner, read this page before the pitch deck. Every claim below is load-bearing. If any of these twelve feels wrong to you, we're probably not the right agency. That is useful information for both of us.

Citations, not rankings.

The blue-link era is ending. The answer-engine era has begun. We optimize for the moment an AI model names you in its answer, not the position your page holds on page one.

One thing done well.

No PPC. No paid social. No tool stack we don't believe in. One specialist firm, one category. If you need a generalist, you already have ten to choose from. We aren't one of them.

Name the lever or don't ship it.

Every deliverable has a named creative mechanism. Schema, entity graph, citation mining, voice calibration, comparison authority. If we can't name what will move the number and why, the work has no business being done.

Proof beats promise.

Schema is infrastructure. Entity registration is the address.

Structured data tells the model what you are. Sameas links across Wikidata, Crunchbase, G2, LinkedIn tell it where else you live. Without both, the machines can't cite what they can't identify.

Classic SEO hygiene is necessary. It is not sufficient.

Canonicals, meta tags, title budgets, crawlability. We do all of it. We do it on day one. Then we do the ninety percent of the work your last agency never touched because the category didn't exist yet.

The ninety-day foundation is non-negotiable.

Compound returns require a compounding substrate. The first ninety days build that substrate. We will not promise citations in week one. We will show you what to expect and when.

No monthly retainer that bills for nothing.

Our retainer meters against the work that actually moved. Every month ships a report that names the lever, the action, and the result. If it didn't move, we say so, and we say why.

No refunds. We deliver.

If we take the job, we finish the job. The audit ships in forty-eight hours. Six deliverables. Yours to keep whether you hire us after or not. The retainer ships on the schedule we set, not when it's convenient.

Lance reads every email.

No account managers. No sales funnel. No inbox triage. The founder answers. If you email hello@neverranked.com, I read it and reply within a day. This does not scale, which is the point.

Every category shift rewards early movers and taxes late ones. The AEO shift is not different. The agencies and brands that build the citation foundation now will compound against the ones that wait. The cost of waiting goes up every quarter.
