NeverRanked · Takedown and opt-out

If your business is in our data and you want it out, this page tells you how.

One email. 24-hour response. No questions, no defense, no negotiation. The receipt comes down and the business is excluded from future measurement.

The short version: email takedown@neverranked.com with the URL or the email reference, and within 24 hours the content is removed and the business is added to the permanent exclusion list. You do not need to provide a reason. You do not need to involve a lawyer. This is the bar we hold ourselves to.

What this page covers

NeverRanked is a research practice that measures which businesses get cited by AI answer engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI Overviews, Microsoft Copilot, Claude, Gemma) for category-relevant queries. Some of that measurement is published on our site. Some of it is sent to named businesses as outreach.

If your business is named in either surface and you want it removed, this is the process. It applies whether your business is the subject of a receipt or a comparison reference in someone else's receipt.

The three things you can request

1. Remove a specific receipt or page

If a specific URL on our site names your business and you want it taken down, send us the URL. We unpublish within 24 hours of receipt. No defense, no negotiation, no requirement to explain why.

2. Opt out of future measurement

If you do not want your business measured or named in any future NeverRanked artifact, send us your business name and any relevant variants (legal name, DBAs, common misspellings). We add the business to the permanent exclusion list. From that point forward, the business is excluded from our datasets, never appears in receipts, and is never named in outreach to others in the category.

3. Both

Most requests are both. Same email, both requests honored, same 24-hour SLA.

How to send the request

To takedown@neverranked.com

Subject Takedown / opt-out request

Body (what to include) · Business name (and any variants we should match against)
· URL or email reference for the specific content (if you have one)
· Which you want: takedown, opt-out, or both
· A contact email so we can confirm completion

That is everything we need. We do not require company letterhead, attorney representation, or a stated reason.

What happens after you send the request

What we will not do

Why our standard is faster than the law requires

The legal floor for most takedown processes is several business days. The DMCA copyright process gives the host longer than that. We hold ourselves to 24 hours because the data we publish is time-sensitive and because the right response to any objection is to act on it, not to defend it. If we made a mistake, we want it off the internet quickly. If we did not make a mistake but you still want it down, that is also a sufficient reason.

Methodology context

Our measurement methodology is documented at /methodology/. Every published artifact includes the measurement window dates and the queries used. AI engine behavior changes weekly, which means even an accurate measurement can become stale. If you believe a published claim is stale or wrong, the takedown process is the fastest path to resolution; we will also re-run the measurement on request if that is useful to you.

For lawyers and counsel

If you represent a business and prefer to send a formal cease-and-desist or DMCA notice, the same address works: takedown@neverranked.com. Please include your bar number and jurisdiction. We will route the request through counsel on our side and respond accordingly. Acknowledgment within 24 hours; substantive response on counsel timelines.
